What is Showcase the Street?
Showcase the Street are a registered charity (number SCO 35025) who try to make things like Dance, Music, Film making and all those cultural subjects affordable for young people and accessible for everyone. Our Dance styles include Hip Hop, Modern, Contemporary, and Irish, with classes for many age groups so check your area on the website to see what is on offer. We also have our very own dance companies with a new Hip Hop company planned for this year to run alongside our Contemporary Company. Nearly 1000 young people use our projects every week so we must be doing something right!
We are always keen to support and help young people, and communities to set up projects in their own area, so if you'd like to see something where you live why not get in touch at the Contact page.
Because we are a charity we can make things more affordable, but at the same time give the highest quality of teachers and tutors, just take a look at our teachers area on this site to see some of the people who work for us. We also have a great volunteering scheme where young people can support our classes and other community projects, plus we are the first organisation in the UK to bring you a standard grade qualification in Hip Hop!
If you are a young person (or a parent) that would like to know more why not contact us through this site by going to the ‘Contact’ area.
There are full lists of timetables for all the areas we work in, so take a look today, and who knows you could be singing, dancing, and filmmaking at a Showcase near you!!!
Angus CPC has just launched its website which contains information for children, young people, parents and carers and staff working with children and their families.
The website contains information on action to take when there are concerns for a child, guidance for community groups on the recruitment of staff to work with children and young people and training which is available for community groups.
Also contained in the website is an online training resource for those who want advice on keeping children safe. The link to the website is: www.anguschildprotectioncommittee.org.uk
