SOCIAL IMPACT

SHOWCASE THE STREET’S SOCIAL IMPACT
INSPIRING SCOTLAND – A project we have delivered over a ten year period working with 14-16 year olds in secondary schools across Dundee and Angus who are disengaged and at risk of exclusion/ and or offending. The project uses accredited courses like dance, sport and Virtual Reality to develop and support young people in a way that has proven to work. Of the 2000 young people we have worked with over 75% have recorded positive changes and led them forward to positive lifestyles.

FAMILIES PROJECT – Funded by the Big Lottery to support families in the locality of our Dundee facility who are vulnerable and at risk from wider social issues. The project uses play, sport and fun sessions supported by our staff, families workers and wider agencies to allow families to grow and take ownership locally.

SCHOOLS PROGRAMMES – Working in partnership with schools in Angus and Dundee at primary level and using sport, dance and new technologies to increase learning outcomes for young people from areas of deprivation. Projects have shown increased attainment and retention as well as leads into community programmes after school.

COMMUNITY CLASSES – Delivered across four areas of Scotland to support areas who are deprived or sit in rural areas to access the arts and sports in a fun and informal way leading towards shows and events.

CREATIVE LIVES – Working with Scottish Dance Theatre and the Dundee Rep to support young people in care or who have had care experience to develop new skills, increase confidence and gain new directions in life.

DUNDEE FACILITY – Our Dundee facility is used bo various groups including homeless projects, early years programmes, and healthy eating programme run by the NHS as some examples.
